Jackie Blue and the Coyote

So, Jackie Blue was out on the water, as folks in N'Ohlins often are.

About 10 miles north of Grand Isle.

And they (Sue was along) imagine they see...something swimming in the water.  This is not exactly open water, but it's not inland.  It's a good 1.5 miles from one marsh island to another, and they are pretty much halfway between them.

The something appears to be a...coyote.  Now I know what you're thinking:
Jackie Blue "saw" something?  That's the bourbon talking, right?  But Sue was along, too.  And there is a picture, as they caught up:

Okay, so they pull up beside it, to get a better look:

Okay, yes, that's a coyote.  Swimming more than a mile, to get from one island to another.  Sue, perhaps unsurprisingly, wants to get the pup in the boat.  Jackie, even less surprisingly, starts to find reasons why that is a bad idea.  Fortunately, the guide simply vetoes further discussion:  "No.  We are not going to put an angry wild coyote into a small boat with us."

So there you are.  I hope the little guy made it, and eventually got back to mainland where he can feast on feral Chihuahuas and chickens.

If it weren't for the pictures, I'd assume that Jackie B was just jealous of Dutch Boy's manly, "I kilt me another snake today!" stories. But this seems to be true.

And, of course, if you want to see both Jackie and DB in their prime, here they are.  That's pretty darned prime, if you ask me...I still have dreams (good ones) about those cut-off jorts Jackie is wearing...
